Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier

Gwen has a destiny to fulfill, but no one will tell her what it is.
She’s only recently learned that she is the Ruby, the final member of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve, and since then nothing has been going right. She suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her. And she’s just learned that her charming time-traveling partner, Gideon, has probably been using her all along.
This stunning conclusion picks up where Sapphire Blue left off, reaching new heights of intrigue and romance as Gwen finally uncovers the secrets of the time-traveling society and learns her fate.

I loved this book and the previous two books in the Ruby Red trilogy. The books are hilarious, exciting, fast-paced and nerve-wrecking at times. The story can be slightly confusing at times because it is about time travel, but it is unique and I really grew to love the characters. I also enjoyed the romance and sword fights! I hope this wonderful trilogy becomes a long-running series, because I would absolutely read more from this author. Highly recommended for girls 12 and up. Thank you to Henry Holt & Co. for this awesome book!

  1. I loved Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue so much! I have an ARC of Emerald Green, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I got a copy of the movie from a friend who lives in Germany, and it was pretty good - not completely accurate, but a pretty good movie (if it weren't a book-to-movie adaptation, I would have LOVED it, not just liked it). I'm so glad you enjoyed this book, Lily! Great review!

    1. Oh, COOL! I didn't know there was a movie...did you just watch it with subtitles? I might have to try and find it! Glad you liked these books as much as Lily!

    2. English subtitles for the win! There was an option to have the audio in English, but it didn't match up with the mouth movements obviously, and it's so much more authentic to hear things in German and just read the English subtitles, you know? I hope you can watch! And YES! This series is probably the only time-travel series that I've ever enjoyed :o
