A remarkable adventure by award-winning author Matthew J. Kirby brings a fantastical American West filled with secrets and spies and terrifying creatures to vivid life.
In this extraordinary adventure story, Billy Bartram, his father, and a secret society of philosophers and scientists venture into the American wilderness in search of the lost people of the Welsh Prince Madoc, seeking aid in the coming war against the French. I like The Lost Kingdom a lot and look forward to a sequel. The story was a little tricky to get into at first, but in the end I loved it. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the author does a really good job of offering lots of excitement with plot twists, suspicious characters, cliffhangers, and more to keep you on your toes as you read this surprising and adventuresome story. I highly recommend this book for boys and girls ages 8-12.
