Descendant by Lesley Livingston

The last thing Mason Starling remembers is the train crossing a bridge. An explosion . . . a blinding light . . . then darkness. Now she is alone, stranded in Asgard—the realm of Norse legend—and the only way for her to get home is to find the Spear of Odin, a powerful relic left behind by vanished gods.
The Fennry's Wolf knows all about Asgard. He was once trapped there. And he’ll do whatever it takes to find the girl who’s stolen his heart and bring her back—even if it means a treacherous descent into the Underworld. But time is running out, and Fenn knows something Mason doesn’t: If she takes up the Spear, she’ll set in motion a terrible prophecy. And she won’t just return to her world . . . she’ll destroy it.
In this pulse-pounding sequel to Starling, Lesley Livingston delivers another electrifying blend of nonstop action and undeniable romance that will leave readers breathless.

Right away I could tell this book was going to be just as good as the first by how it picked up right where Starling had ended. I really like that in books because it makes me feel more attached and like I'm more apart of the characters' lives. And just like my guess, this book did not disappoint as a second installment.

Descendant kept me entertained the whole time with the action, trying to figure out how to work out problems and solve some mysteries of the first book. And of course Fennry's Wolf was just as swoon-worthy as in the Starling. The way Livingston wrote the characters and overall book with such dedication and description really made this book even better and more interesting to read.

It was fast-paced, engaging, and the characters were just as strong in this book as in the first. Mason, the main character, is a strong and independent girl who I think is also pretty kick ass. Everything about this one managed to be even better than the first.

The last chapter of this book also made me want to scream just like with the ending of the first because it was another cliffhanger. I would definitely say set aside time in your busy school or work year to read this book because it is ADDICTING. I'm already ready to waste some social life in order to read the third in the series.
