Dreamless by Josephine Angelini

StarHearts, as fans of Josephine Angelini call themselves, will stay up all night reading Dreamless, the second book in the bestselling Starcrossed series. The saga mixes mythology, romance, action, and intrigue in a completely original way.
Dreamless continues the story of Helen Hamilton, a shy girl living on Nantucket Island whose desire for an ordinary life was thwarted when she discovered she is a Scion, a descendant of a Greek god and a mortal. Each Scion has a power, and Helen’s is the ability to travel to Hades.

Helen is determined to use her talent to stop a war amongst the gods and change her destiny, which is to live a life patterned after that of the tragic Helen of Troy. But her quest may cost her Lucas Delios, the boy she loves.

Dreamless, the sequel to Josephine Angelini's Starcrossed trilogy, has left me anxious to read the final installment, Goddess. The multiple view points from the characters make it very interesting to see the story from all angles/perspectives and to understand better each character's true emotions. The shocking love triangle and intense chapters make it hard to put the book down. Yet sometimes you have to take a minute or two break for your heart to calm down. All in all Angelini did a fantastic job on this sequel! I can't wait to read the last book!

  1. I haven't read this one yet! I have a problem with sequels where I know the author is going to have a cliffhanger ending in the second book, so I don't want to the read the second book until the third books comes out. But I think all of these books are out! Hmmm, multiple viewpoints. I love multiple viewpoints! But I'm not liking what I hear about a love triangle. I'm not sure if I was planning on finishing this series, but perhaps I'll wait for your review of Goddess to decide!

    Great review!
