Prodigy is a face-paced, suspenseful dystopian. I equally enjoyed reading both Day’s and June’s point of views. I had favorite parts of the book at every turn; there was never a dull moment. Part of what made this book so thrilling was that I never could anticipate Day’s and June’s next moves. The stakes for them were so high I couldn’t imagine how they’d possibly impact the world in which they live (the Republic). One of my favorite aspects of Day, my favorite character in the book, was how he rebels without killing anyone, staying true to his character. I never disagreed with him throughout the book and I always rooted him on. I’d recommend this book to boys ages 13 and up—even if they hate reading, I’m positive they’ll love it!
